Zanzibar to Build Revolutionary Wind Farm

Zanzibar is set to build a new wind farm, thanks to a partnership between Aseel Oilfield Services Limited and Sany Renewable Energy.

The wind farm is expected to have a capacity of between 20 and 200 MW, which will be a significant step towards diversifying Zanzibar’s energy mix and reducing its reliance on fossil fuels.

The team from Aseel Oilfield Services Limited and Sany Renewable Energy recently conducted a site visit to potential locations for the wind farm in the Bambi and Malindi areas. The primary objective was to identify sites with maximum wind power generation potential.

The team also met with government officials to discuss the findings of the site visits and to explore ways to facilitate the seamless implementation of the wind farm project.

Shaib Hassan Kaduara, the Minister of Water, Energy, and Minerals, expressed his support for the wind farm project and emphasized the importance of diversifying Zanzibar’s energy mix and reducing its reliance on fossil fuels.
