African Energy Week (AEW) 2025 is set to take place from September 29 to October 3 in Cape Town, South Africa.
With the theme “Invest in African Energies,” this year’s conference aims to unlock investment and foster development across Africa’s diverse energy landscape.
Bringing together government officials, industry leaders, investors, and project developers, AEW 2025 promises to be a key platform for addressing the continent’s pressing energy challenges.
Africa’s energy potential is vast, with over 125 million barrels of proven oil reserves and 620 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
However, energy poverty remains a significant barrier to development. Many countries still face limited access to reliable electricity, hindering economic growth and quality of life.
AEW 2025 will focus on attracting investment in both traditional energy sources, like oil and natural gas, and renewable energy, paving the way for a balanced and sustainable energy future.
The event will shine a spotlight on major projects driving Africa’s energy development. Highlights include:
-
TotalEnergies’ multi-billion-dollar Venus project in Namibia, which is expected to unlock significant oil reserves.
-
LNG projects in Mozambique’s Rovuma Basin, led by ExxonMobil and Eni, contributing to Africa’s energy security and low-carbon transition.
